In Belgium, the dairy cooperatives CHEOUX and LAC+, which together collect half of the milk production in the Walloon region, have taken over SOLAREC, specialised in the production of butter and powdered milk with a turnover of BEF 5 bn in 2000. CHEOUX and LAC+ together have a turnover of BEF 8 bn. They now both have a 50% stake in SOLAREC.
