16/01/2001 (Agence Europe) - British Conservative Christopher Beazley makes it clear, on the matter of his speech before the constitutional committee of the EP (see EUROPE of 10 January, p.4) that he has never said the Treaty of Nice should be approved, but that he is less pessimistic than his colleagues and that enlargement should take priority (see page 5). Mr Beazley also stresses that he was not the only Conservative to have expressed such views, and that his positions are not the same...
