ENEL has received "signs of interest" from 26 Italian and foreign companies or consortia for the takeover of ELETTROGEN, one of the three companies put up for sale by the Italian State-owned electricity. ELETTROGEN, which manages some 7% of the Italian market, represents a turnover of 1 bn euro and employs 1,800 people. Its sale should bring in between 1.8 bn and 2.8 bn euro for ENEL, according to the latest estimates.
