According to the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, the German group RHEINMETALL is in talks with the tank manufacturer KRAUSS-MAFFEI WEGMANN in view of possibly forging links. In 1999, RHEINMETALL had a turnover of 4.5 bn euro, 1.6 bn of which in ground armaments.
