ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) automobile equipment

The engineering group LAIRD has totally pulled out of the automobile industry by selling LAC, its last business active in the sector, to the Swedish group TRELLEBORG for £102 million. The "automobile equipment" sector represented 40% of LAIRD's total turnover, amounting to £473 million in 1999.
