The French company VIA-CARIANE, subsidiary of the French rail company SNCF, is to acquire a stake within its British ally, GO-AHEAD, in order to counter a hostile bid on GO-AHEAD made by C3D, a subsidiary of CDC - CAISSE DES DEPOTS ET CONSIGNATIONS. See EI of 31 August.
