ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) cement

The Mexican group CEMEX (annual production capacity of 65 million tonnes of cement) is to take over the American firm SOUTHDOWN (12 cement factories) for $2.6 bn, at $73 a share. These two companies together will have an accumulated turnover of $6.3 bn and produce 77 million tonnes of cement.
