ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) chemicals

The German conglomerates VEBA and VIAG, now merging (see EI of 11 December 1999) have announced the poling of their respective subsidiaries DEGUSSA-HUELS and SKW TROSTBERG in a company called DEGUSSA AG (which will have a pro forma turnover of 14 bn euro). The future company to emerge from the merger between VIAG and VEBA, called E.ON will have a some 64% stake in the company.
