ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) telecommunications

The Norwegian firm TELENOR has taken a 30% stake in the Thai mobile phone operator TAC - TOTAL ACCESS COMMUNICATIONS and another 24.9% stake in its parent company UCOM - UNITED TELECOMMUNICATIONS INDUSTRY. The amount of the operation is assessed at some $720 million ($530 million paid for TAC and 189 million for UCOM).
