ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) chemicals

American EASTMAN CHEMICAL COMPANY (turnover $4.59 billion in 1999 with 15,000 employed in over 30 countries) is to acquire, through its subsidiary EASTMAN CHEMICAL THE HAGUE BV, 76% of the capital of CHEMICKE ZAVODY SOKOLOV, a chemicals company established in the Czech Republic. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
