13/07/2016 (Agence Europe) - European Commission appoints two new Deputy Director-Generals, one of whom is British. On Wednesday 13 July, the Commission decided to appoint French national, Bernard Magenhann, to the post of Deputy Director-General for Human Resources and Security. Magenhann takes up his new role on 1 September. The Commission appointed another Deputy Director-General, Matthew Baldwin, from United Kingdom, to Directorate General Mobility and Transport. Baldwin is currently head of Cabinet for the outgoing Commissioner, Jonathan Hill, who leaves the Commission at the end of this week (see other article and EUROPE 11591). (LC)
