18/02/2016 (Agence Europe) - Sefcovic presents gas security “package” to Berlin. Implementation of the Energy Union and the new raft of measures (adopted to this effect on 16 February) known as the gas security supply package (see EUROPE 11491), as well as the introduction of the international climate agreement concluded at the COP 21, are expected to be at the centre of the discussions between the German authorities and Commission Vice-President, Maros Sefcovic, when the latter comes to Berlin on 18-19 February. Sefcovic is due to meet the German Vice Chancellor and Minister for the Economy, Sigmar Gabriel, the Director of the German Chancellery, Peter Altmaier, Environment Minister, Barbara Hendricks, and the President of the Budestag Foreign Affairs Committee, Norbert Röttgen. He is also expected to attend a conference on industrial prospects up to 2030 and make a speech to the German Economic Council. (EH)
