Representatives of the European Parliament and the EU Council of Ministers hope to reach agreement in principle on Tuesday 4 February on the draft UCITS V rules on the distribution in the EU of unit trust funds, which aim to increase the guarantees for bond-holders after the Madoff scandal. The EP had at one time hoped to introduce the idea of capping unit trust managers' bonuses. (MB/transl.fl)
