EU missions in Jerusalem and Ramallah were greatly critical, on 28 January, of the “inflammatory speech” by the Mufti of Jerusalem on 9 January, which called for murder of the Jews. The missions point out that all parties are under an obligation to “immediately cease incitement”. “Jerusalem is a city sacred to three religions and all religious leaders should be working for dignity and justice for people of all faiths”, they added. They also underlined that the EU “firmly rejects any advocacy of national, racial or religious hatred that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence”. (CG/transl.jl)
