23/08/2010 (Agence Europe) - On 9 August, the European Commission announced that it had paid €64 million as part of the annual financial contribution under the Fisheries Partnership Agreement (FPA) with Mauritania. €55 million of this sum was to allow EU vessels access to Mauritanian waters in order to fish, and €9 million was to support Mauritania's fisheries sector.
