The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has increased its forecast for global growth for 2010 in its World Economic Outlook, published on 7 July. World growth is expected to be of the order of 4.50% in 2010 and 4.25% in 2011. Compared with the forecast at the end of April 2010, this is an increase of around half a percentage point for 2010, reflecting stronger activity in the first half of the year. The forecast for 2011, on the other hand, remains unchanged. (I.L./transl.rt)
