03/01/2001 (Agence Europe) - The leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), meeting in Manama, finally did not speed up their plans for a customs union, that they had intended, in principle, achieving in 2003 (on which they have being trying in vain to agree since 1983 and that is a precondition for concluding a free-trade agreement with the European Union).
