Payment of new tranche of financial aid to Ukraine

24/10/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 23 October, the European Commission paid a further tranche of €1.5 billion to Ukraine as part of the €18 billion in macro-financial assistance granted by the European Union for 2023 (see EUROPE B13277A5). This assistance will be used to fund the immediate needs of a country beset by Russian military aggression: paying civil servants’ salaries and pensions, maintaining public services and repairing critical infrastructure.
