European Parliament Environment Committee does not oppose proposed 10-year renewal of glyphosate authorisation

A dampener today for members of the Greens/EFA, S&D and The Left. The objection they had lodged to the European Commission’s proposal for an implementing regulation on the 10-year extension of the authorisation of glyphosate as an active substance was narrowly defeated (38 votes in favour, 40 against, 6 abstentions) on Tuesday 24 October in the European Parliament’s Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI).
