The Italian group ENI is now sure of success in its friendly bid for LASMO, having reached 83% in the capital of the British gas and oil producer. So as further to increase its weight and reduce minority shareholders to the minimum, ENI is extending its bid, which was to end on 12 January, to 26 January under identical conditions (see EI of 23 December).
