France detects first outbreaks of EHD in cattle farms

21/09/23 (Agence Europe) – The French Ministry of Agriculture announced, on Thursday 21 September, the presence of the epizootic haemorrhagic disease (EHD) virus in cattle on three farms in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques and Hautes-Pyrénées regions. There is no vaccine against EHD. This disease is not transmissible to humans. In Europe, it has so far been discovered in Italy (Sardinia and Sicily), Portugal and Spain.
