MEPs approve appointment of Claudia Buch as head of Single Supervisory Mechanism

21/09/23 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 20 September, the European Parliament’s Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) approved by a narrow majority (29 votes in favour, 23 against, 2 abstentions) the appointment of the German Claudia Buch, currently Deputy Governor of the Bundesbank, to head the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM), replacing the Italian Andrea Enria for a five-year term starting in January 2024.
