Germany found to have breached Habitats Directive

21/09/23 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 21 September, the Court of Justice of the European Union ruled against Germany for infringing the Habitats Directive (92/43) (case C-116/22). According to the Commission, the German authorities: failed to designate as special areas of conservation 88 of the 4,606 sites of Community importance listed by the European Commission (decisions 2004/69/EC, 2004/798/EC and 2004/813/EC, updated respectively by decisions 2008/218/EC, 2008/25/EC and 2008/23/EC);...
