On Wednesday 13 September, the European Parliament adopted by a large majority (505 votes in favour, 93 against, 52 abstentions) the draft ‘Bischoff’ report amending Parliament’s Rules of Procedure in order to strengthen the rules on transparency and integrity in parliamentary work, in response to the ‘Qatargate’ scandal of alleged corruption of MEPs by third countries (see EUROPE B13248A5).
