Ursula von der Leyen reiterates that EU will stand by Ukraine for as long as it takes

In her State of the Union address on Wednesday 13 September, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, once again underlined the EU’s solidarity with Ukraine, more than a year and a half after the start of the Russian invasion.

“We will be at Ukraine’s side every step of the way. For as long as it takes”, she promised, adding that Ukraine’s future lay within the Union.
