European Commission approves Italian programme implementing EMFAF 2021-2027

On Friday 4 November, the European Commission adopted the Italian programme implementing the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF).

The total amount of public funding is €987.2 million for the next 6 years, of which €518.2 million comes from the EU budget.

49% of the funds (€466.85 million in EU funding) are allocated to the fund’s number one priority (sustainable fisheries), including helping Italy to end the practice of discarding fish, reducing...
