Le Français SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC a créé une joint-venture avec la société australienne CLIPSAL INDUSTRIES. Baptisée CLIPSAL ASIA HOLDINGS LIMITED, celle-ci sera détenue à parité et aura pour objet social la fabrication et la commercialisation de produits de matériel électrique terminal en Asie. SCHNEIDER rachètera parallèlement, pour 450 millions d'euros, l'activité de matériel électrique terminal de GERARD INDUSTRIES un groupe qui appartient, comme CLISPSAL INDUSTRIES, au holding CLIPSAL INDUSTRIES HOLDINGS. SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC réalise actuellement un chiffre d'affaires annuel de 1,2 mrd d'euros en Asie-Pacifique, soit 12% de son chiffre d'affaires global, pourcentage qui devrait grimper à 25% après ces opérations.
