European Commission protects name of Italian wines from Emilia-Romagna region

18/12/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 18 December, the European Commission added wines from Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region (which covers the municipalities of the provinces of Bologna, Modena and Ravenna) to the Community register of protected designations of origin (PDO). Emilia-Romagna wines are produced in four categories: wine, sparkling wine, quality sparkling wine and semi-sparkling wine.
