On Monday 18 December, the European Union and Kenya officially ratified the Economic Partnership Agreement, the negotiations for which were concluded last June (see EUROPE B13204A10).
The agreement should completely open up the European market to Kenyan exporters as soon as it comes into force: all products from Kenya, with the exception of arms, will be exempt from tariffs and quotas when they enter the single market.
