The debate in the plenary session of the European Parliament on the outcome of the Spanish Presidency of the EU Council, held in Strasbourg on Wednesday 13 December, took place in a tense atmosphere, in the presence of the newly re-elected Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez.
