Claudia Buch officially appointed chair of Single Supervisory Mechanism

19/10/23 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 19 October, the Council of the European Union formally appointed the German Claudia Buch, currently Deputy Governor of the Bundesbank, to head the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM), the European authority responsible for directly supervising 109 banks as part of the eurozone banking union (see EUROPE B13264A12).
