Retail investment strategy, Member States to discuss ban on commissions paid to advisors

The Member States will be meeting on 4 and 5 October as part of the EU Council working group on the retail investment strategy (see EUROPE B13252A17). A significant part of the discussions will focus on the issue of a partial ban on commissions paid in the case of execution-only sales - i.e. ‘with no advice’ - on which the Member States are divided.
