European Parliament political groups announce their candidates for 2023 Sakharov Prize

14/09/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 September, the European Parliament’s political groups announced their candidates for the 2023 Sakharov Prize. The EPP, S&D and Renew Europe groups have decided to nominate Mahsa Amini from Iran and the Woman, Life, Freedom movement in Iran. For their part, the ECR has nominated Georgian lawyer and public defender Nino Lomjaria, and the Greens/EFA have proposed Ugandan climate activist Vanessa Nakate. According to Politico, ID...
