Positive reception from MEPs for draft report on small modular reactors

On Thursday 7 September, MEPs discussed the draft report by Franc Bogovič (EPP, Slovenian) on small modular reactors (SMRs) and their development at European level (see EUROPE B13244A7). 

“Small nuclear reactors generate between 10 and 300 megawatts of electricity (...) This is a solution for the future, as it allows steam to be heated, which can then be used for heating purposes”, explained Mr Bogovič.
