European Council to discuss cooperation with NATO and European defence

European leaders are due to have lunch with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Thursday 29 June at their European Council meeting to discuss European and global security issues, just a few days before the Alliance’s summit in Vilnius.

According to a European source, the lunch will be an opportunity to discuss ways of strengthening cooperation between NATO and the EU and what more can be done together. The heads of state or government and the Secretary General could also discuss...
