With 37 votes in favour and 5 abstentions, members of the European Parliament’s Committee on Transport and Tourism (TRAN) have adopted their negotiating position on the directive on the cross-border exchange of information on road traffic offences (see EUROPE B13211A22). With 34 votes in favour, 1 against and 4 abstentions, they agreed to begin discussions with the Member States, once the green light has been given at the December plenary session.
