For Karabakh Armenians, leaving their homes was “only option”, says Dunja Mijatović returning from mission to region

Dunja Mijatović, Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, spoke on Thursday 26 October about her visit to Armenia, Azerbaijan and the Karabakh region from 16 to 23 October.

This mission focused on the displacement of more than 100,600 Karabakh Armenians, who fled to Armenia after Azerbaijan took military action on 19 and 20 September and announced the dissolution of the self-proclaimed Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
