In its Gas 2023 Medium-Term Market Report, published on 10 October, the International Energy Agency indicates that global demand for natural gas is set to slow after a decade of growth, with a peak in 2021 in mature markets such as Europe, Asia-Pacific and North America. Europe is facing a drop in demand due to the loss of Russian gas by pipeline following the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the increase in renewable energies and energy efficiency efforts.
