EU Council adopts regulation on geographical indications for industrial and craft products

09/10/23 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 9 October, the European Council definitively ratified the text of the agreement creating a geographical indication (GI) for certain industrial and craft products. The text, largely approved by MEPs at the September plenary session (see EUROPE B13248A10), provides for protection of industrial products similar to that already in place for regionally produced food and drink.
