EU Council adopts Renewable Energy Directive

09/10/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 9 September, the Council of the European Union adopted the revised Renewable Energy Directive, which aims to increase the share of renewable energy to 42.5% of the EU’s overall energy consumption by 2030. Only Hungary and Poland voted against the text. Bulgaria and the Czech Republic abstained. In addition, five Member States have published a statement detailing national reservations and difficulties.
