Greece must allow effective investigation into sinking of Pylos, says Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights

In a letter sent on 19 July to the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and published on 28 July, Dunja Mijatović, the Council of Europe’s Commissioner for Human Rights, stressed Greece’s legal obligation to carry out effective investigations into the sinking of the Pylos on 14 June.

More than 80 migrants died and several hundred are still missing.
