European Commission calls on France to comply with 2002 ‘Noise’ directive

29/09/23 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 28 September, the European Commission sent France a reasoned opinion for infringement of Directive 2002/49/EC relating to the assessment and management of environmental noise. This directive requires Member States to draw up noise maps and action plans for conurbations, major roads, major rail routes and major airports - to be revised at least every 5 years, if necessary.
