Transitional phase of EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism enters into force

29/09/23 (Agence Europe) – The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) comes into force on 1 October, or at least its transitional phase does. During this period, importers will only have to declare the volume of emissions contained in the products they bring onto the market (and covered by the CBAM regulation). It is only from 2026 that they will have to pay for CBAM certificates for imported carbon emissions. This phase will enable companies to familiarise themselves with the system....
