Five EU-funded films among winners at 80th Venice International Film Festival

11/09/2023 (Agence Europe) – Five EU-funded films won prizes at the 2023 Venice International Film Festival (Venice Mostra) on Saturday 9 September, the European Commission has announced. Matteo Garrone won the Silver Lion for Best Director and Seydou Sarr the Award for Best Young Actor, for the film Io Capitano (Me, Captain).
