European Commission opens a consultation on introduction of a new marking rule for firearms

08/09/23 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 7 September, the European Commission opened a public consultation until 5 October on a new implementing directive on firearms, which will introduce a new rule setting “the minimum depth for markings on firearms and their essential components” at “0.08 mm”, it says. “This technical requirement will be added to existing standards laid down in Commission Implementing Directive 2019/68.
