On Tuesday 18 July, at the 2023 Conference of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Producers and Consumers in Tokyo, the European Union and Japan established a dialogue on energy security with regard to the global LNG architecture. This decision follows the EU-Japan Summit held on 13 July in Brussels (see EUROPE B13222A10).
The dialogue is based on three pillars: global security of supply, market transparency and the reduction of methane emissions in the LNG supply chain.
