The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, announced on Friday 2 June, following a call with the Deputy National Security Advisor of the United States, Jon Finer, that new elections would be organised in the north of Kosovo in an attempt to put an end to the violence that has been raging for almost a week in this region of the country (see EUROPE B13190A20).
