On Monday 29 April, the European Commission announced that it had informed the Spanish airline International Consolidated Airlines Group, S.A. (IAG) of its preliminary opinion, in the context of its in-depth investigation into the proposed acquisition by IAG of sole control of the Spanish companyAir Europa Holding, S.L. (Air Europa), which was opened on 24 January (see EUROPE B13336A19) to understand the potential impact of the proposed transaction.
