MEPs approve new European rules on collection of air passenger data

25/04/2024 (Agence Europe) – The European Parliament approved, on Thursday 25 April, two new regulations requiring and harmonising the way in which airlines collect and transmit pre-flight passenger safety information, known as API (Advanced Passenger Information) data, by 492 votes to 33 with 10 abstentions, and 438 votes to 35 with 60 abstentions (see EUROPE B13374A34).
