MEPs suggest strengthening proposal for directive on ‘right of consumers to have products repaired’

The European Parliament’s Committee on Environment (ENVI) supports and wishes to strengthen the March 2023 proposal for a directive on the right to repair (see EUROPE B13147A7), in order to promote in the EU the effective right of consumers to repair defective products after their sale, outside the legal guarantee.

The draft report by Sunčana Glavak (EPP, Croatian) was adopted by an overwhelming majority (81 votes in favour, one against) on Thursday 12 October.
